How do I insert a reference?

When inserting a reference you have four options:

1. In Text (Author, Date)
   This will insert a reference into your text at your current cursor position in the document using the format (Author, Date) e.g. (Smith, 2006)
2. In Text Author (Date)
   This will insert a reference into your text at your current cursor position in the document using the format Author (Date) e.g. Smith (2006)
3. Footnote
   This will insert a reference into your text as a footnote, details appear at the bottom of the page and are referenced using a symbol. eg. ¹Footnotes are a thing of profound beauty.
4. Endnote
   This will insert a reference at the end of your document, details appear after the document and are referenced using a symbol. eg. ¹...I gathered that endnotes were particularly relevant...
