Referencing Using Document it
How do I merge citations?
The "Merge References" area allows you to copy references from one 'Document it' file to another.
This means that if you want to use a reference in the current document which you have previously used in another document you don't
have to go through the whole process of re-entering the citation information. You can choose to carry across a single reference or the
whole bibliography. In addition you could, if you wished, copy all your bibliographies into one document as a resource.
- Click on the merge button in the main 'Document it' screen. The button is on the right hand side column of buttons.
- A new window will open with three buttons on the right hand side. Click the 'Upload' button.
- A file browser window window opens to allow you to select a document from which to import citations. Locate the file you want to mrege and click 'Ok'.
- You will return to the previous window, this time it will contain the citations from the imported document.
- To import a single citation into your document click 'Add'.
- To import all of these citations into your document click 'Add All'.
- Click close to return to the main 'Document it' screen.
